Tag, You’re It: June Updates  

We’re officially tagging June as a great month! 🎉 Subject Tags are now available to everyone, along with a collection of bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and other updates throughout TutorBird. 

Tutor Management

  • Tutor preferred locations are working properly again. Your favorite location can go back to being your favorite location 
  • Substitute tutors can no longer attempt message actions they don’t have permission to use 
  • Tutor profiles now include their spoken languages (and they can have this information appear on sign-up forms) 
  • New tutors now get a helpful suggested spoken language based on your account’s region 
  • Tutors with Full Access can now update their own payroll settings 
  • Tutors can once again save changes to their own initial lesson settings without running into errors 
  • Inactive tutors were refusing to leave. They can now be deleted properly 

Student Management

  • Clicking “Ignore Duplicates and Continue” when adding a new student was only doing half the job. It now ignores duplicates and continues. As advertised. 
  • We busted a few ghosts haunting the Student List. Deleted students can no longer stick around for one last action. 

Calendar & Attendance

  • Taking attendance with the directional arrows was freezing up, but it’s back to moving at full speed 
  • Tutor availability now displays more accurately in the Calendar Day View across different time zones 
  • The recurring lesson conflict warnings now know it’s time to leave once you’ve fixed the problem

Subject Tags

  • Subject Tags are now available to everyone! 🎉 Manage them from the Tags menu and use them for emails, assigning resources, color-coding, online booking, and more. 
  • Tutors can now be assigned both a Subject Tag or a Group Tag in their profile. 
  • We’ve renamed most instances of Group Tags to Tags to make things a little more clear. 

Student Portal & Booking

  • Students can no longer sign up for subjects that none of your tutors actually teach. (A reasonable expectation, really.) 
  • Student Portal invoice date ranges were sneaking in an extra day. They’ve been put back on schedule 
  • Sorting Online Resources by folder is behaving itself again 
  • Setting your advanced booking time to zero now displays a warning before you accidentally prevent all availability bookings 

General/Other

  • We’ve added a handy new About page to your profile menu that shows your browser, device, and other useful info. Perfect for reference during support calls! 
  • Expense payments were showing up twice despite only existing once. We’ve convinced them to stop cloning themselves 
  • The “your trial is almost over” reminder banner has made its triumphant return. 
  • Enabling Two-Factor Authentication was freezing the app for some members. Security is important, but so is being able to use the app 
  • The Learn More button in the profile picture menu now actually learns you more by taking you to the correct page 
  • Autocomplete fields have stopped chopping off anything after 255 characters. Your words are safe now 
  • Various cosmetic tweaks throughout. ✨
